Prayer for Ukraine

Dear Lord God, You oppose oppressors. You punish evil-doers. You de-throne tyrants . You protect your children. You draw hearts to seek you in every circumstance. So I pray for your righteous judgment on Russia and their aggression against Ukraine. I lament the loss of life and livelihood. I pray against war because war is not from you. I pray for a revival in Ukraine,  for a sweeping of the Holy Spirit through their towns and cities, for a longing and dependence on you for  salvation , protection , comfort, freedom , and eternity. You make yourself known to the nations. Lord, protect the Ukrainian people , especially the believers there, so they can minister to their countrymen. Lead them to operate out of love, not hate, for their fellow-man. I pray for a swift resolution to this conflict. Lord, set the prisoners free! I pray for  vengeance  against the Russian aggressors. Lavish your love on Ukraine and the people of Russia who are under Putin's thumb. I pray for a reversal of

How to pray for the desires of your heart

Have you ever prayed and asked God to give us the desires of our heart? It's a Scriptural. David prayed these words. But let's look at the whole prayer for some context . How should you pray for the desires of your heart? We find this important phrase in Psalm 20 . David outlines his troubles to God, and he speaks truth over his fears. Three times, David gives a humble and worshipful response to God's character of goodness. This prayer is anything but a laundry list for desires, but it is an outpouring of desire for God and from God. Here's how it goes: Dear Lord, you answer me when I'm in distress. You protect me. You send help from your sanctuary and give me support from Zion (that's angel protection and help!). You remember my worship and my gift offerings. You give me the desires of my heart . You make all my plans succeed . I shout for joy  and lift up the banner displaying God's goodness. You grant my requests. You save me because I am yours, and

A Valentine's Day prayer about love

Dear Lord, Nobody deserves your love. Not me. Not anybody else. Your love surpasses all comprehension . So who am I to pick and choose who I'm kind to? Whom to include? Whom to protect and cherish? Whom to elevate and encourage? Everyone is loved by God as much as I am, no matter how good or bad they are, no matter what they've done or what they know. Loved completely because Jesus died for them, even in their sin, just like he died for me in my sin. Lord, I want to show love without reservation or judgment. Convict me, forgive me, release me to the world to reflect your love. Thank you ! You are amazing. In Jesus' powerful name, Amen. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” ( John 13:34-35 )

A Prayer to believe and speak truth

Lord Jesus, Why do I do things I don't want to do? Why can't I stop myself? I am giving power to the enemy. Lord, forgive me! I have been letting the devil bind me and enslave me by speaking lies to me about my self-worth, identity , value, destiny , worthiness. All he speaks are lies. You speak the truth over me. You say I am loved, saved, worthy, beautiful, belonging. I am your child, your bride, your object of rescue. Thank you, Jesus. You are always good , always safe, always loving , always protecting, always using everything around me and me, when I let you. Thank you! I will believe and speak these words of truth over myself, and I will change my thoughts and behaviors. You alone are worthy of my worship  and my obedience. You have my heart and my life. In your holy name, Amen. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do , but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17 As it is, it is no lon

Prayer over my marriage

Lord God, I want a good marriage that edifies you  and models your love to the world . So, Lord, convict me to make my marriage about representing you, not about trying to make myself happy or get my spouse to live up to my standards. Remind me to be patient and be kind, even when my spouse isn't. Convict me when I think or say hurtful things to my spouse. Prompt me to apologize immediately,  instead of making excuses or blaming my spouse for our problems. Fashion me into the Bride of Christ, helping me function like the Church should respond to you, the Bridegroom : Make me loving , f orgiving , encouraging, hopeful, and committed forever. Help me fulfill this list of intentions: I will assume the best of my spouse when I'm not sure what he/she meant. I will wait to react when something hits me wrong. I will pray for my spouse every day-- not to be more like I want, but to be more like Christ. I will confess my selfishness to my spouse and to God. I will ask questions wit
